President: Melanie Trapman

Coming from a fitness background, Melanie embraced the Pilates method, recognising that she craved more education and knowledge around healthy, functional movement. Melanie is an energetic problem solver who believes in fostering a positive and inclusive culture amongst APMA members. Endeavouring to create a powerful force to benefit all. Stand for them, listen to them, support them and commit to progress.

Vice President: Donna Oliver

As an accredited exercise physiologist, Donna specialises in education and mentoring of the future generations of Pilates Teachers and practitioners.
Donna continues to passionately extend her vast knowledge and experience of exercise science, injury rehabilitation and safe dance techniques. Donna's nurturing personality leads to providing safe, effective and functional exercise to all her clients through the Pilates Method.

Treasurer APMA:  Sherrie Aprilovic

Sherrie is passionate about teaching Pilates to a wide range of clientele from those with musculoskeletal issues or pathologies through to athletes and weekend warriors.
She loves to design her client's Pilates programs with a specific goal in mind even if, that goal is just being able to bend over put on socks!
Her goal is to improve the quality of everyday life for each individual so that the environment demands (no matter how big or small) on the musculoskeletal system is managed with grace and ease.

Secretary APMA: Shauna Downes

Shauna is an Exercise Physiologist who continues to work alongside Physiotherapists, Exercise Physiologists and Pilates Teachers.
She sees the value of recognising what different professions bring to the table in terms of managing client health and enjoys working in these multidisciplinary settings thoroughly.
Whilst most of her work has been more based around rehabilitation, she has recently become more interested and involved in athletic performance.

Education Chair APMA: Wendy Larsen

Wendy is passionate about her Students reaching their individual goals. She develops programs that allow for each individual to intuitively seek what their body needs, whilst providing results in a safe space using contemporary rehabilitation/clinical approaches, underpinned by the Joseph Pilates Method.
Wendy is driven to share her love of education within the Pilates Industry.”

Council Member: Dorothy Curnow

Over the years Dorothy’s studio has focused on remedial movement and rehabilitation, with special attention given to balance, coordination and strength – which have become even more important as Dorothy and her client base have aged.
Dorothy believes supervised structured movement that teaches stability provides the effective groundwork for maintaining movement facility in later years.

Council Member: Julia Frankish

Julia has a passion for promoting the role of Pilates in rehabilitation and retraining efficient movement strategies.
Having worked closely with physiotherapists and other practitioners within the industry, as well as having been a dance teacher for 12 years,
I have an in-depth knowledge of physiology and biomechanics and my teaching and exercise prescription reflects the individual physical and mental needs of my clients.

In 2019, Jo's administraion role changed from a humble 3 hours a day to fulltime position. Her delightlful voice is the one you hear on the other end of the phone when you are met with an obstacle or wish to find out more information for up coming events. Jo's passion for the APMA has her supporting you as the memeber in all aspects from membership, workshop co-ordination, accounting, RTO administration & liaison for our Education & Training just to name a few.
